Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Subaru Ascent- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have Yakima OnRamp 2-Bike Platform Rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Subaru Ascent. So, the Yakima OnRamp is definitely designed for your electric bikes. It has an included ramp attached to the bike rack. Great if you're the type of person that forgets to bring the ramp like I am and it is popular for the reasons of that ramp being able to adjust this and having a lot of versatility for how it secures the bikes. Now for the Subaru Ascent though we're gonna talk about how it fits with this vehicle. I personally think it's a great fit, especially since the height of the hitch on the Ascent makes it pretty necessary for ramps for those heavier bikes. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Subaru Ascent- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Swagman XC2 two bike platform rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Subaru Ascent. So with this bike rack, it's gonna be really popular because it's a very entry level bike rack so it's affordable, but it also allows you to carry around your bikes on a platform rack rather than swinging around on a hanging rack. So if you're not interested on paying extra for features you may not need, this is something that you might consider. Now, there's definitely some downsides to that too, like you can't tilt it away, there's no locks, you have a 35 pound per bike weight capacity, things like that. So we'll talk about that, but we're gonna focus on our Subaru Ascent here to see if it'll be a right fit for your car. The very first thing I'd like to talk about is the clearance between the bike and the car. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Subaru Ascent- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have a Kuat Piston Pro bike rack for four bikes, and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Subaru Ascent. So, this is gonna be a pretty impressive bike rack. It's a large rack that's for sure, and it can carry four bikes, but it also has the Kuat at one touch pistons to make it quick and easy to load and unload those bikes. So, you just press a button and the arms swing up just like that, that's a pretty cool factor for when you're on the trails, and at the parking lot, and you're ready to grab your bikes and go. But there's some things you have to consider when you use this with the Ascent. One of the main things I've noticed with this bike rack is that the Ascent has a lot of ground clearance, the hitch sits really high off of the ground. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Subaru Ascent KU24FR- Video
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Kuat Transfer V2 3 Bike Platform Rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Subaru Ascent. So the Kuat Transfer is pretty popular for the reasons of it's a good premium rack without being as much of a premium price as the Kuat NV. So if you like Kuat bike racks, but you're looking for something that's maybe slightly more affordable that's where the Kuat Transfer comes in handy. Also, it has a unique goalpost design that makes it easier for you to grab your bikes and load them up as well as once it's in the compact position then you have more visibility behind your vehicle. But with how it works on the Subaru Ascent unfortunately this bike rack does not tilt down far enough away for you to fully open up your hatch door. So if that's a very important feature for you this might not be the best fit for you and I have some suggestions as alternatives if you stick around for the end of this video but first, I'll show you what I mean. more

Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at the Saris SuperClamp HD on our 2019 Subaru Ascent. The SuperClamp is a platform style bike rack that holds a bike by the tires. Each one has its own wheel hook and it's gonna hold it down into those wheel cradles. There's secondary straps down there for extra stability, and overall, the result is a very firm hold on the bike. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Subaru Ascent- Video
Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the RockyMounts MonoRail on our 2019 Subaru Ascent. The MonoRail is a platform style rack that's gonna hold the bike in these trays and primarily by our front tire. We've got a wheel hook up there that's gonna hold the bike pretty stable and it's gonna hold the tire down here in the cradle to kind of help stabilize that movement. The back wheel has a cradle and a secondary strap to hold that end down as well and it's gonna result in a pretty good fit. more

The NV is a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these trays and by its front tire using this wheel hook. It's gonna make zero frame contact, making it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. And with the 60 pound weight capacity per bike, it's gonna be good for some e-bikes too with that battery removed. With this bike rack, you do have the ability to tilt it away from the vehicle to get hatch access. more

So if you're really looking for a bike rack that really has all the features you would want, but looks really good. The Sherpa is my favorite looking rack, just because, one, it's nice and sleek, has a nice powder-coated finish, but it comes in different colors. So right here is the gunmetal gray. more

So if you're looking for a bike rack, that's gonna be great for your carbon fiber bikes. Look no further, I really liked this one, one, because it is gonna have no frame context. So it is great for those carbon fiber bikes, but it's also going to be able to extend to three. So if you have a growing family or your hobby is growing, we can add one more on the end to make it into a three bike rack, which is always awesome. So we are gonna have a little bit of limitations. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over, the Thule hitching post pro four bike rack, here on your 2021, Subaru Ascent. So the hitching post is definitely an excellent four bike rack option for you and the family. Now, one of the main things I really like about this bike rack, is that it gives you a great value for the cost. So Thule is definitely a higher end brand. There's definitely some below it and there's even a couple above it, but for the most part Thule is pretty much the standard for hitch bike racks. This particular model here, it's not a top of the line option but it's definitely not one of the bottom ones either. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan, here at etrailer. Today on our 2020 Subaru Ascent, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4-Bike Rack. One of the big questions we get in regards to hitch-mounted bike racks is if you're still going to be able to have full hatch access. Well, this one does fold down and allows us to do that. Come down here to this pin, go ahead and pop that off, pull the pin out, the center will fold down and that'll give us more than enough room to get anything you may need in and out of the back of our Subaru.So our bike is going to be secured in three different spots. We're going to have two straps here along the top tube, and a strap down here, and this is actually going to act as an anti-sway strap to help prevent that side to side movement. more

Hey guys, it's Colin here at etrailer. Today we will be discussing a '19 Subaru Ascent. We're going to be testing the Tulle Easy Fold XT Two Bike Rack. Now this is a platform style rack, that's going to allow you to transport up to two bikes to and from your destination.Now, it is going to be good for bikes up to 65 pounds each, so totalling 130 pounds. So it's going to be just fine for any of your ebikes, if you want to get those loaded up. You do want to make sure that you want to remove the battery before you load it up and haul it. more

So here we have a 2019 Subaru Ascent, and we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Apex XT 4-bike rack.Now, this is a hanging-style rack that allows you to carry four bikes to and from your destination. The hanging-style rack is going to give you a bit more ground clearance when it comes to transporting your bikes on platforms, where they sit lower right here. Your ground clearance is going to be up here when the bike rack is empty. Even when you have bikes loaded, your bikes are going to be saying a lot higher than that.It's going to have an onboard-cable lock, which comes from the base of the rack, comes up from the mask right there. You can bring it across all of your bikes, and then it goes into that slot right there. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Subaru Ascent- Video
Hey everyone. Today, we have a 2019 Subaru ascent, and we're going to do a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Destination four bike platform rack. This platform rack is a great way to transport four bikes to and from the trails or wherever else you need to take them. What's really nice about this is that we have a really high ground clearance because it has a slightly angled up platform when it gets to the back. So our ground clearance is going to be much improved when compared to a lot of other bike racks out there. And given that on the ascent, the hitch does sit higher than most. more

It's a four bike hanging style rack been designed for use with the inch and a quarter or with two inch hitches. So there's a lot of capability here. A couple of the things that I like about this one that we don't always see with other racks, to start with, it's going to be the cradle spacing.These are spaced out at about seven inches. more

We're test finishing different bike racks on it.This one happens to be the Thule Helium Pro 2 bike rack. Now the biggest thing this rack's got going for it, other than a lot of the features you generally find on a higher end hanging style bike rack is that it is extremely lightweight. That's where it gets the name Helium. This is something that you can very easily, even if you don't have a bunch of strength or maybe your hands aren't that strong, get loaded up into any vehicle and get attached. more
